Haunted Honeymoon is the new name of Danse Macabre, who came together in London in October 2007. The previous incarnation of the band took their own brand of folk-rock, halloween-pop cabaret around London and beyond, including sets at the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Worcester Music Festival. In April 2011 the band reformed as Haunted Honeymoon, ready to take the London rock-pop cabaret scene by storm!

The band's songs, characterised by bright tunes and bittersweet lyrics, have been described as folk goth, quirky pop and "...off the scale in the avant-garde stakes...".

Haunted Honeymoon - a brief history
The inside story by Steph!

Haunted Honeymoon is the reincarnation of our previous folk-rock-goth-pop Danse Macabre, which itself first came together in the summer of 2007. The name 'Danse Macabre' was increasingly seen as not quite being right for us and after considering many good, bad, ugly and downright silly alternative names we eventually settled on 'Haunted Honeymoon'. This name won out partly because it was more reflective of the dark duets which have come to characterise the band's sound, but also because like the film of the same name, the band is more than a little tongue-in-cheek...

The current line-up of Haunted Honeymoon first saw the light of day at the last-ever Danse Macabre gig at The WayOut Club, back in November 2010. This gig also marked a change in that for the first time we played a proper cover (of Abba's Summer Night City, which we decided was about having sex in public places). We subsequently took a break from performing to rehearse and rearrange the songs properly for the five-piece band we have become and will soon be hitting a stage near you!
