SHEEP AND COWS

This was one of the sillier songs in Danse Macabre's repertoire. It was written on the train on the way back from the band's first appearance at the Worcester Music Festival in August 2008 and to date has only been performed once; at The Globe, Brighton in March 2009. Taylor and Ash both take lead vocals on this song.

SHEEP AND COWS
(Music: Taylor; Lyrics: Steph / Taylor)

The sky is blue, the sun is high,
Green and pleasant countryside,
Fields of grass and pretty flowers,
I see pigs and sheep and cows.
I see lorries in the town,
Full of pigs and sheep and cows,
Frozen up and chopped to bits,
So we can eat them with our chips.

I see woods and I see trees,
Green and red and yellow leaves,
Lots of pretty countryside,
Where mice and little bunnies hide.
I see lorries in the town,
Full of trees that've been chopped down,
Mashed and flattened and printed on,
Some drunk soap star on page one.

I see horses roaming free,
Galloping so merrily,
I see ponies running wild,
Each one with a snotty child.
I see a horsebox drive through town,
Taking steeds to Epsom Downs,
To race until they break their legs,
So gambling fools can win their bets.

I see pigs and sheep and cows.
Fields of grass and pretty flowers,
The sky is blue, the sun is high,
But one day they all will die.
